I have been working very hard for many years. I would like to get retired some day. I haven't traveled a lot because, I have a big family, however I consider that I have to take this opportunity as soon as possible.

The present perfect is a verb tense which is used to show that an action has taken place once or many times before now.

In the present perfect, you normally talk about 

experiences that already happened. 

I have traveled many times to Paris.

I probably have met her before in France. 

Have you traveled to Paris yet?

I have been in Paris 4 times.

This means that you have had the experience of being in Spain. However you are not saying when or how many times.
